project life--week 8

welcome to week 8 of project life--linking up at the mom creative.

i'm finishing up the february challenge...

#12 inside your closet
here's a little glimpse of what i wish was inside my closet...a bunch of louis vuitton luggage!
(although i'd be terrified to take it anywhere, so i guess it's good there is no chance that will ever be a problem for me!!)

#8 sun
i love this picture of mckinlee & mom with the sun streaming through.

#17 time
snack time at yogurtea--yum!

#21 a fave photo of you
mainly i love this picture because of where i am--anthropologie. what is it about that store that makes you want to live there in one of the displays?

#11 makes you happy
this little mug with my initial that my mom bought me is making me super happy! i have drunk my tea and coffee in it every day since i got it.

#6 dinner
when my mom was visiting i made sauteed salmon, baked potatoes & salad for dinner--it was really good!

this one wasn't one of my photo challenge pictures--just one i liked.
i got the download online (thanks becki for the link), printed it at home, got a frame & easel at michaels and it now sits on our dresser. chris and i (ok, mainly chris-ha!) aren't the best at leaving each other little notes. but this is so neat because as we think of something we jot it down with the dry erase pen--it's quick and easy, but still nice to walk in and find a new reason you're loved! here's one he left for me recently--aww, how sweet.

that's been my week--thanks for taking a peek!

project life--week 7

another week of project life--i just love documenting our everyday life in pictures. if you've never tried, why not try next week?

still doing this february challenge:

#15...phone
since i will probably never see this on my phone again this winter, i thought i should take a picture tonight.

#7...button
mckinlee is very into sewing right now. they are learning to sew in skills for living, so at home she practices sewing on paper and sewing buttons on fabric.

#9...front door
i love this wreath i bought at joanns last year--and my cute door mat i found at target recently.
it looks like i'm all ready for spring.

#19...something you hate to do
i usually hate to clean shower--the fumes make me cough, i don't like getting my clothes wet when the water drips down my arms, etc. well, it finally hit me...i should clean the shower when i'm taking one! so i got a magic eraser, nothing else, and cleaned it from top to bottom. no fumes and i was already wet!
why in the world didn't i think of that sooner?

#24...inside your bathroom cabinet
i'm so embarrassed that i'm posting this.
but i did buy cute organizers from target and this mess should be nicely organized soon!

#25...green
limes, tomatillos and a cute green umbrella

#10...self-portrait

project life--week 6

6 weeks into to the new year--i'm liking not worrying about a picture every single day and focusing on a week at a time. works much better for me.
linking up to the mom creative.

i'm still doing this february challenge--not in order, just as i feel like it.

#1--your view today
this was my view of half-time during the superbowl. i stayed at the table near the food!
(am i the only one that thought the half-time show was terrible?)

#18--drink
we are loving this lemonade right now.
chris mixes it with iced tea and i just drink it straight.

#14--heart
a yummy cupcake chris and i shared

#28--money
we're going to new york this summer and i started my own little saving fund (apparently in an old target envelope!)

#23--your shoes
my steve madden boots were finally delivered. i have been looking all winter for boots and decided these were just what i wanted. got a great deal online too.

#13--blue
now that my half bath is painted "arctic blue" i needed a new rug.
i found this one at target and it was just what i was looking for.
(well, actually, the one i really wanted i found in the new garnet hill catalog. it was wool and $78... so i opted for the $19.99 target version instead! ha!)

#26--night
this is where you will find cosmo every night...curled up by the fire.

that's been our exciting week :)
thanks for dropping by.

project life--week 3

well, i'm 3 weeks into project life. it really is a neat thing to document your life in such an easy way! i love it!
linking up to the mom creative.

we had our yearly clothes swap party this evening. i was so busy looking and trying on clothes that i didn't get a shot of the racks and racks of clothes downstairs. but i did sneak up to the girl's room and took a picture of mck and her friend going through mounds of clothes!

after the swap, a bunch of us went to an exotic tea & smoothie place.
here are some of the girls with their drinks.

and here are us moms with ours. i got the coconut milk smoothie and it was delicious!

the next day we had off from school and it was supposed to be a nice, warm day. so we made plans to meet at a park for lunch and to play.

well, it was not sunny and warm. it was windy and cold! all the moms huddled together freezing--while the kids were peeling off their jackets because they were so hot!

tonight i made a new recipe for chili that we just loved. i substituted buffalo for ground beef and it was delicious.

mck one morning as she studied for a test before leaving for school.

i just wanted to remember what shows we are into right now. mck loves full house & the brady bunch and we are so excited american idol started again.

we loved that smoothie place so much that we went back for our after school friday treat.
mck got a pink lady with bubbles.
(it was a pomegranate soda with the huge tapioca balls and it was amazing!)

i got the coconut milk again.

decided to try something trendy i've been seeing online--painting one nail a different color. i kind of like it!

i had a lot of pictures for this week--so i will be adding some page protectors in my week to hold them all.

project life tuesday--week 2

here are my pictures from week #2 (highlights from the week--not necessarily a picture a day.) linking up at the mom creative.

cosmo found a cozy napping spot--mckinlee's viola case!

all of chris' prescriptions after his gum surgery

i spent forever cleaning and organizing my scrapbook room. my table is all nice and neat and i'm ready to finish my 2010 project life (i'm always a year behind, remember?)

some friends and i went to the cutest, anthropologie-esque boutique called milk & honey.

it was decorated so cute inside

we all found some cute things

while we were in dallas, we stopped at society bakery--here is my pink champagne cupcake. yum!

that's all this week!

project life--week 1

i'm starting project life again this year. if you've never heard of project life, go visit becky higgins blog. i think it's a wonderful way to scrapbook/document your life!
i've tried to do the picture a day concept and sometimes that gets overwhelming. so this year i'm going to focus on what our week is like rather than a specific picture to go with a specific day. (and just to clarify--i take pictures and journal for the current year, but i put my album together at the end of the year when i have the new project life kit. that's just what works for me!)
linking up to the mom creative.

here's week 1:

working on a recipe binder. getting rid of folders filled with recipes i don't use and organizing everything into a cute binder.

cosmo climbed up in the chair and was sitting at the table like he expected me to serve him breakfast! silly cat.

i found a cute red purse on sale the other day and have been trying to think of different outfits that would coordinate with it. today i put this old navy shirt and sweater with some skinnies, red flats and pinned a red flower i made on an old navy necklace.

a book i am reading right now, borrowed from my friend michele.
it is so good--very emotional. based on the true story of the tsar nicholas II and the bolshevik revolution.

chris really loves coffee made from a french press. we only had a little one, so i bought a larger one the other day at marshalls. i also got some yummy coffee at whole foods (decaf for me) and now we enjoy our freshly pressed coffee! that's the mug mckinlee made me for one of our anniversaries. i love it.

this girl is so into makeup these days. chris says he thinks she's going to be a makeup artist when she grows up! she used her allowance and money she had been given and placed 2 orders from elf. they both arrived on the same day and she was thrilled.

all of us gathered around the fire and chris' computer for our family worship evening we have every saturday night.

yay! week 1 is done. only 51 more to go!
