bicycles

still haven't posted about my first day of running yet. will do that later...
here are some pictures of the bikes i am thinking about. i thought i really wanted turquoise or pink, but i think my favorite one so far is the silver one with the brown paisley. i don't know--that turquoise one is really pretty! which one is your favorite?
don't know why the picture won't enlarge when you click on it. for better views, these bikes are all from bikemart.com (richardson bike mart)

special assembly day

on sunday we had our special assembly day in denton. it was all about fulfilling our ministry. it was so encouraging and really motivating. there were two experiences that the bethel speaker shared that were so good.
one was about how the door to door ministry is our "trademark." these two witnesses were going door to door when they came across a house with the door open. they called out hello and a voice from inside said "are you them? are you them?" they didn't know what to say so they said "yes, i guess we are." the man came to the door and said "you're jehovah's witnesses, aren't you?" "oh yes, we are them!" the householder said he had read that someone had prayed for jw's to find them and they had come to their door the next day. so he said "i prayed yesterday for jw's to come today at 2 pm and i left the door open so you wouldn't miss me!" the speaker said, "it wouldn't be worth telling if i didn't say the witnesses looked at their watch and it was 2pm!"

the other one was about letter writing. this one older sister had written letters for 20 years without so much as one response, ever! she decided she just couldn't do this form of witnessing anymore and said she would never write another letter. the c.o. tried to encourage her to keeping writing. he even told her "jehovah has more work for you to do"--but she was adamant. no more letters from her! well, her favorite radio announcer had a death in the family, his mother, and was talking about it on the air one day. she thought "well, maybe i'll write just one last letter--to him." so she wrote a letter to him and his family comforting them with the resurrection hope. some days later she was listening to the radio and the announcer expressed his appreciation for everything that had been done for him during his recent loss. he said he got so many cards and letters, but this one letter helped more than any other. of course, it was this sister's letter! he thanked her and said how much it had meant to him. she decided to write just one more letter giving another witness and telling where she lived. one day, there was a knock on her door and the radio announcer and his family were there to visit her. she witnessed to them even more, a study was started and they all came into the truth! some time later, there was another knock on her door and there the family was again. they said since their mother (grandmother) had died, they wanted to adopt her into their family and wanted her to come and live with them!! the speaker said "would you say jehovah had more work for her to do?"
isn't that so sweet? encourages me to keep writing those letters!
wow! this is my longest post ever. (of course, i only have 6 posts!! ha ha) i didn't take alot of pictures--just haven't been in the mood. you can't tell from the pictures, but i wore my hot pink shoes and jewelry--it wasn't all just black! will post about my first day of running later!

random-ness...

nothing too interesting going on here. went grocery shopping at whole foods the other day. i just love their produce (among other things!) my fruit bowl looked so colorful i had to take a picture.

after i picked up mckinlee today, we both were having a bit of a chocolate attack. so we stopped to get a candy bar (i know, we should have been eating that beautiful fruit instead!) when we got home, mckinlee assumed her usual procedure when eating a twix bar. she shears off the caramel from the cookie part and eats them all separately. (for anyone who knows her, this is not unusual behavior at all!)

trying to play catch up on my project 365. i got really off these past 2 weeks being out of town and just not being diligent about documenting things. (danielle, if you're reading this: will you put your pictures of mom's party and the anniversary on snapfish so i can order some. thanks!)
will post pictures from our assembly on monday!
ciao~for now

i'm back

wow. it's been awhile. the days just fly by. company, being sick, trying desperately to go out in service as much as i can. but, it's officially spring break now and it is a much needed break!
mckinlee has been saving her money for a long time now and has wanted her own camera for so long. she finally saved up enough and we made a mad dash to wal-mart before our company got to town so she could appropriately document her weekend! her are some of her pictures. she told me when she got her camera that she already decided this summer she was going to do "a picture a day" the whole summer. ahh! a girl after my own heart!

a new life...

here is mom on her way to naples to begin her new life! isn't she the cutest? i could not be any happier for her than i am right now. that she found such a wonderful man who will love her and make her happy--that's all i wanted for her. i am so glad that she has opened her heart and is doing this for herself. (i couldn't help but have a few tears in my eyes as i drove away. not because i was sad--because i was so thrilled for her!)

note to self:

you will NEVER watch the bachelor again. enough said.
