catching up

i feel like i haven't blogged in forever.
we've been having too much fun and have been far too busy to be blogging!
sadly, i haven't been documenting our fun in pictures.
sometimes i just don't want to bring out the camera--i just want to enjoy the moment.

the first week of mck's winter break we went to waco to visit everyone.
i didn't get one picture of the time we spent with chris' mom and dad :(
mckinlee got to spend one night with brooke and i didn't get a picture of them either :(

i did take a few pictures at danielle's on "craft day". we didn't want to spend a lot of money shopping or even be at the crowded stores, so one morning we went to hobby lobby and got all the supplies we needed to make the cutest necklaces.
(for more fun things we did check out danielle's blog--she was better at taking pictures!)

here mom and mck are working away:

sadie found some eyelet lace under the table and had a fun time with that!

sadie watching mck craft and stuffing green beans into her mouth as fast as she can!

the necklace almost finished

danielle wearing her necklace and sadie wearing the little eyelet hair clip d made for her

mck and i watched sadie one morning while mom and danielle showed a house.
here she is at lunchtime.
this girl can eat! see the avocado--she actually fusses if she runs out of avocado!

here's part of her lunch--half of an avocado and half a turkey/cheese sandwich

this face...i never get tired of looking at her!

when we got home, the weather had changed and it was cold!
this is cosmo's favorite spot in the house--on a quilt right next to the fire.

we had julie and amber over and we scrapbooked, made cards and ate all day!
mck & amber got the scrapbook room:

julie & i sat at the breakfast table (nearer to the fireplace and the food!)
i worked on my project life and i finally have 2009 done! (i'm always a year behind because i compile the previous year with a new kit and then take daily pictures for the current year.)

if you want to start project life--the new kits are now available on amazon and they are so pretty! go here to becky higgins blog to get more info.

we have lots of fun things planned for this week--and i must take pictures!

Project Life--Week ?

i'm so behind in project life. i'm trying desperately to get caught up and all my pictures ordered before the new kit comes out later this week! if you want to check out the 2 new designs go here. i think i'll be getting the amber edition!
(i've already posted some of these pictures lately--so sorry if you've seen them before.)

12.12.10
sunday
mckinlee had a bad fall on the ice skating rink yesterday and was in quite a bit of pain. she decided to attach my neck pillow with packing tape so she would have a soft place to sit!

12.11.10
saturday
i got a $15 credit from modnique.com and used it to buy this cutting board. it came in the mail today and i'm so excited to use it!
12.10.10
friday
i try to take mckinlee to get a treat every friday after school. today we went to paciugo's and had our favorite gelato. my absolute favorite flavor is mediterranean sea salt caramel. (my mouth is literally watering right now thinking about it!) they don't do real scoops, but more like this paddle of gelato--so you always get 3 or more paddle-fuls. i got 2 of the sea salt caramel and 1 dark chocolate. mck got 2 wedding cakes and 1 cappucino. yum!
12.9.10
thursday
my mom had given me some money a while back (which i was saving for a purse until chris surprised me with one--see below) so i used it to get some casual boots from dsw. these are the most comfortable shoes and were an amazing deal!
12.8.10
wednesday
this was one of the items i got from michele busch's jewelry show last week. i didn't have anything copper and adored the turquoise flower!
12.7.10
chris went out of town and surprised me with this purse when he returned. i love it!
12.6.10
monday
this is the one he got for mckinlee. she has been wanting a hipster for a while and was totally surprised!
12.5.10
mck with some of her besties at the assembly this weekend.

quotes

blogger is being all weird on me.
i'm trying to winterize my blog and so far, all it will let me do is change the photo.
so for now, you will see my winter picture with all my fall colors!

just had to share a few quotes that i am loving right now...

do you ever buy honest tea? i love it! my favorite is mango acai or peach oolong. anyway, on the lid of every bottle is a little quote. i find some of my favorite quotes on those bottles of tea.
so much so that you may remember i did this little diy project a while back...

so the other day, i opened a bottle of tea and this was the quote inside:

stop living life for what's around the corner and start enjoying
the walk down the street.

grant l. miller

then last night chris had a part at our meeting about helping people/giving and he said:

little things become big things when given in love.

wow! i was so struck by it that i grabbed a pen and hurriedly wrote it down before i forgot it!
we may think little things we do for someone are so insignificant that it really isn't much,
but when it's done in a spirit of love, it turns into something much bigger.
thanks, honey...i'll remember that.

(this picture has nothing to do with this post, but i love this one of chris and sadie when we visited last!)

finally one i read that, unfortunately, i have forgotten where i read it or who said it.
i may have already posted this--can't remember.

how you spend your time is how you spend your life.

and on that note, i will get off this computer and go do something with the rest of my day!

have a great weekend~

what we've been up to

i wish i would just post a few pictures everyday, then i wouldn't have these monster picture posts--sorry.
here's what we've been up to over the past couple of months...

chris' bible student's wife made this fabulous cake and sent us some.
i cannot describe to you how amazing it was.

you may remember me linking this recipe after my aunt sent it to me in the mail.
this is the second time we've made them and they are wonderful!

i cleaned my closet for several hours one day and this was the result.
everything here and more went to goodwill or the clothes swap we have every year.
it feels so good to have a clean closet now.
(although i'm wishing i hadn't gotten rid of those brown boots!)

mckinlee had to do a life map for one of her classes--i though it turned out so cute!

here is cosmo's favorite place to be lately. i love this quilt (it has all my favorite fall colors). cosmo found it on the chair and now we call it his "nest"!

the last picture of me with long (to me) hair.

mckinlee was out for a whole week for thanksgiving break so we went to waco to visit this cutie

we took her to chuck e cheese for the first time and she loved it! she especially loved chuck e himself and wanted to get up there with him so bad.

she also loved the little rides
is she darling or what?

loved this profile picture of her and chuck e.

she also took her first steps while we were there--so exciting!

mckinlee's doing really well with the viola and tries to practice every day!
i especially love when she plays oh susanna, then i sing along!

vera bradley sent me a $20 coupon and since i really didn't need anything else, i didn't want to spend a lot (but i didn't want it to go to waste either!) so i got one of their lunch bags for $8 in the very berry paisley print and i just love it!

last month for my stamp class order from stampin' up, i got the charm and necklace. my wonderful stampin' up demonstrator had a class to make the inserts and this is how it turned out. cute, no?

another great deal...
i had a $10 off coupon at bath & body works and 1 free item coupon (did you know if they come together, then you can use them together? i didn't.)
so i got all of the stuff below for $21. yay me!
(that twisted peppermint i could squirt directly into my mouth i love the the scent so much!!)

mckinlee making a wig out of a squishy ball!

over the weekend, we went to waco's circuit assembly. we got to see some friends and family we haven't seen in a while. sadly, i didn't take many pictures at all.
this was one of the few-- mck with her friends.
(i didn't even get one of sadie in the cutest outfit you've ever seen--with a little black feather headband! boo hoo.)

last week chris had to go out of town on business...stopped at the coach outlet on the way home...and surprised me and mckinlee with new purses!
what a great guy!!
here's mine. see that pink lining? i die.

and is this cute hipster perfect for an 11 year old or what?

yes...we think we'll keep him!
thanks, honey.
