mckinlee has been on a flower making spree. she has made some beautiful ones that i've been wearing a lot!

i happened upon this great sale at target. all these lamps and shades were clearanced to almost nothing. i ended up getting 4 lamps and shades for $25!

our ulta was having a grand reopening. the first 100 people got gift certificates and the first 1000 got goodie bags. i fell into both of those categories. (but only got a $5 g.c.!) anyway, they ended up giving me 2 bags, so i shared with mckinlee. she was so excited!

one of the items i bought at ulta yesterday. this curling iron is supposed to solve all my hair problems--we'll see about that! ha!

mckinlee was reading sadie a book that ended each page with the word "oops!" sadie thought that was hysterical and laughed every time mck said it! look at her little chubby hand on mck's arm--precious!

we went to a concert in the park for a friend of mckinlee's. it was a beautiful park and they sounded great!

a big group of kid's from our congregation got together to ice skate.

mck and i made these fabulous cupcakes that my aunt sent me the recipe for. it's an ina garten recipe--pumpkin cupcakes with maple frosting and toffee bits. (sadly, i didn't have maple flavoring so i just used vanilla and they still came out amazing! it is the best icing i have ever tasted!!) oh i found the recipe. here it is.

for dinner i made greek chicken pasta. it had artichokes, sundried tomatoes, rotisserie chicken--oh my! it was so good. yay! i found the recipe for this too. here it is.

a friend and i started walking today. it was a gorgeous day to be outside.

show us your life...kitchens

i missed last week's home tour at kellys korner, but thought i'd play along this week. Today it's kitchens--and i love mine!

when we moved into this house, i loved this little area and thought i would probably use it as my little station to keep all my stuff. but somehow, it was just more convenient for chris' stuff.
(btw, those letters spell EAT not FAT! ha!)

here's my little area which is working out just fine. my basket is organized with file folders and i keep my various papers in the folders. if i'm not careful, this little space turns into a disaster!

candy dish is filled with cough drops for mckinlee.

sorry so bright, this is a big window behind the sink. i have a bird feeder in that tree and love to wash dishes and watch the birds eating!

my tealights behind the stove. at night these are so pretty.

i can't believe i'm showing you this, but i figured if i actually showed people how messy my pantry is, i would be embarrassed enough to do something about it!

i started out pretty good--labeling jars and so forth. but it just gets so cluttered.

here's the other side. those shopping bags drive chris crazy since they always fall when he's taking out the trash!

i really can't believe i'm posting this!
this is the what's behind that door above. cleaning this out is at the top of my fall to-do list. (chris will be so glad--he hates this cluttered mess!)
