completely random

this is a hodge podge of pictures i have been meaning to post and just never gotten around to doing it!

mck at her 5th grade graduation
she was really sad to leave elementary and a little scared to be going to a new school for 6th grade. hence the sad, teary pictures to follow...

all of the kids got an award and she was presented with the honesty award--we were so proud!

she and her friend before they the 5th graders took their final walk parade through the hallways.

after the parade...notice she and her friend are the only ones crying.
they did a slide show of each kid's picture as a little child and their school picture this year.

then they had a party with cake and punch!

mck and o had to go see their 4th grade teacher, miss t. and tell her good-bye.

i love this picture of them walking down the hallway to say their personal good-byes to their empty classroom.

mck and i with her principal
mck with her social studies teacher

mck with her math teacher

mck with her science/homeroom teacher. mr. shelby has been a great teacher and mck just loved having him for homeroom. he was a little emotional at graduation too--so sweet!

during school her reading teacher had her baby early. so a really sweet sub took over for the rest of the year.

mck, nana and me

we had a little party for her when she got home. look at her poor, swollen, red eyes :(

showing some of her presents.
loving the james avery ring nana and nini got for her!

reading a card chris and i got her. she started crying and couldn't finish it...

so dad helped out and read the rest!

one of the things we got her was a cd/radio that she'd been wanting for her room.

mck and nana

with dad

a family shot

i told you this was random...
the day after my mom's dad's funeral, mom, mck and i drove to bryan to visit my dad's mom who is in a nursing home. we hadn't seen in her in quite a while and knew she wasn't doing very good so we wanted to be sure we spent a little time with her.
she was doing a little better than we had thought and we were able to take some pictures with her.

i just love this one! i was getting my camera set when she leaned over and kissed mckinlee and then had the sweetest smile on her face. i missed catching that, but loved how she leaned her head on mck. i think they look so much alike here. aren't their eyes pretty?

earlier in that week, we had bought mck and sadie matching outfits and had a little photo shoot in danielle's backyard. they turned out so cute!

some of the out-takes were darling!

we also went "swimming" with sadie.
oh my! those little rolls are the cutest thing ever!

we also got to see mama jeanne's new puppy. still not sure what she is calling him--either king or laddy. but he sure is pretty.

sadie loves her baby da vinci dvd. mck sat down to watch it with her and sadie was so excited!

she would watch it for a little while...

then turn to make sure mckinlee was watching it too--so sweet!

cute cousins

i particularly liked what miss s was wearing that day!

more squints!

in august was the 25th anniversary party for our good friends, sheri & ray. can you believe they'be been married 25 years?

this was the cutest little card with their family pictures on it

sheri & i--love this picture of us!

brooke, madyssen & mckinlee--just like old times!

a picture frame mat we all signed

mck & another sweet friend, tatyana

mck, mady, brooke & emily
(one spring break a couple years ago, all these girls and their mom's came to stay with us for a couple days--we had the best time!)

kali, me & jen

mom, kali & jen

more random-ness...
a few shots from our recent circuit assembly.
mck & i with our c.o.'s wife. we just love her! she is battling cancer but has the most wonderful personality and attitude.
(our c.o. is right behind her)

mck & her friend claire

me with emily and her mom.
(aren't her flowers beautiful?)

patricia and ryan.

chris and i on sunday...

and saturday.

julie, maria & me
(maria made that gorgeous necklace and i have one just like it!)

my random post is almost over!
this is a cute belt i found at wal-mart for $7!
(sometimes i just love that you can walk into a store intending to buy milk and contact solution and come out with a belt!)

cute scarf i got on clearance at old navy. can't wait to wear this with a green tank and a sweater!

ok--that's all.
have a great weekend!

Show Us Your Life Friday-Living Rooms

last year, kellyskorner started this neat friday blog posting. each friday she would post pictures of different rooms in her home and invite other people to link up to her post. she is doing it again this year and i'm so excited!
one thing i dearly love is seeing people's houses.
i love seeing great big houses, tiny cottages, brand new houses, old vintage-y homes--anything.
i just enjoy seeing how people live.
so even though my living room has not changed much since last year, i'm playing along too!

this is the view when you walk in my front door

i have all my fall stuff out already (even though the high today is going to be in the 90's!)
i think the colors of fall are so cozy and comforting--love them!

entry table with my fall flower arrangement.
i always change this table up based on the season.

this is a side table that i struggle with. i just never know what to put here.
i read somewhere that instead of putting candles on candle pillars, use them to display various things. that bird is just hanging out there until i can find another pumpkin i like!

since we have never replaced our tv, this room is not getting a lot of use. ha!

pictures from one of our favorite vacations at the beach

i have a huge family picture that will soon be hanging where the big mirror is.
(hopefully you can't see how messy the scrapbook area is in the mirror!)

i need to change these shelves up--getting tired of how it's looking.

this is the view from the other side of the room.
the doorway to the right is the master bedroom and the french doors go into chris' office.

and this is looking at the front door.
i have got to take those pictures down above the chair and do something there--i am so sick of those!
if you can't tell...i love brown, cream, green and fall!
thanks for "touring" my living room.
