field day 2009
mckinlee's field day was friday. thankfully, the weather cleared for that day & the sun came out (my arms & shoulders actually got a little darker!) we had such a fun time (chris got to come for the morning) watching the kids. we were cracking up at how funny they are!

the class wanted a silly picture:
this picture cracks me up! i wanted a picture of mckinlee with aditi and olivia (2 friends from her class) just before i took the picture this little boy, stone, that they don't really like said, can i be in it too? the girls were just totally silent looking at him. i told him, sure--get in it! the girls were not too happy! chris said mckinlee will probably scratch his face off or cover it over with a piece of paper like she did to one little boy in her school yearbook that she didn't like! ha!

teacher gifts
this week is teacher/staff appreciation week at mckinlee's school. since we don't give gifts during the holidays, i always try to do a little something special during this week to show them how much they are appreciated (and that we can make cute stuff not holiday related!)
on monday mckinlee was off school for a teacher in-service day (not because of swine flu--thank goodness!) she went with me to a class i had scheduled to take from our stampin' up lady and we made the cutest box out of cardstock filled with little notecards and embellishments that the teacher can use to create her own card. it turned out so cute and now i have the instructions if anyone else wants to make one too!

mckinlee is going to give these two jars to her current teacher and her teacher from last year. one loves sour skittles and one jelly bellies, so we tied a ribbon around our wal-mart jar, punched out a tag and put a flower and a little bling to finish it off! tell me you wouldn't love to get a gift like that! (i almost couldn't let go of the jelly bean one!)

this is the candy pouch we are making for all the staff and mckinlee's teachers for specials, library, etc. the candy is hershey's nuggets that we wrapped in coordinating paper and put in a little plastic party bag. the pieces folded over is the top-note die cut from stampin' up. these baby's are time consuming, but so cute! one teacher already told mckinlee she didn't want to open it because it was too cute!

accomplishment...and my lunch
now on to the accomplishment part...i've come to realize that i hate to-do lists. i write everything down that i'd like to get done, then i don't end up getting to finish everything on it and it makes me feel like i've failed. so...i've decided i will keep "got-done" lists. every so often (not every day) i will keep a list of everything that i've got done during the day. i did this yesterday and it made me feel so good! the following list is for me to go back and read over when i need validation that i do indeed do a lot during the day! (feel free to go to the next post. i said i got a lot done...i didn't say it was exciting.)
